Bending Laser Cut Components
Combining laser cutting with folding on our press brake offers a comprehensive solution for efficient and precise manufacturing processes. We have the capability of creating multiple folds, transforming a flat sheet metal into complex forms with excellent lead times, at competitive prices.
We have a 130T and a 170T press brake which are both able to bend up to 3-metres in length (2980mm). Our Trubends are equipped with ACB to guarantee accuracy and repeatability on our folding.
What materials can we bend?
Thicknesses: The range of material thickness we can currently fold are between 0.5mm to 12mm. We are always willing to look at designs as we expand our tooling range and capabilities upon request up to 20mm thick.
Please note the fold suitability is entirely dependent on the design, the radius of the bend and length of the part.
We can bend an array of materials including:
- CR4 – 0.7mm – 3mm
- Zintec – 0.7mm – 3mm
- Galvanised Steel – 0.5mm – 5mm
- S275 – 3mm – 12mm
- Aluminium – 0.5mm – 6mm
- Stainless Steel – 0.5mm – 8mm
- Copper & Brass – 0.9mm – 5mm

Key Features
- Bending Length: The 3-metre bending length accommodates larger sheets, making it ideal for various industrial applications, from automotive panels to aerospace components.
- Dynamic Crowning: With this technology, even force distribution across the 3-metre length is guaranteed. The result is uniform bends, reduced tool wear, and enhanced productivity.
- LAMS (Lower Automatic Measuring System): LAMS continuously monitors the folded angle, making real-time adjustments, thus ensuring the perfect bend angle from start to finish.
- User-Centric Control System: The machine features an intuitive control interface with 3D visualisation. This allows operators to preview bends, reduce potential errors, and enhance overall productivity.
- Safety First: TRUMPF integrates top-tier safety mechanisms ensuring that the operator is always protected without any compromise on the machine’s operational speed.
- Durable and Robust: The design of the press brake is a testament to durability. It promises consistent performance and minimal maintenance over its operational lifespan.
Benefits of using a press brake on laser cut components
- Precision and Accuracy: Laser cutting provides incredibly precise and accurate cuts, and when you fold the metal, you maintain that precision in the bending process. This ensures that the final components meet tight tolerances and specifications.
- Complex Geometries: Laser cutting allows for the creation of intricate and complex shapes in sheet metal. Bending sheet metal enables the transformation of flat sheets into three-dimensional components without compromising the intricacy of the design.
- High Productivity: Combining laser cutting with bending on the same site streamlines the production process, reducing the need for several suppliers, and reduces the lead time.
- Cost-Effectiveness: By utilising mass production techniques, the cost per unit of laser cutting and bending sheet metal can be significantly reduced. Bulk material purchasing, streamlined manufacturing processes, and minimised setup and tooling costs contribute to overall cost savings, making it an economically viable option for large volume production.
