sheet metal bending

We offer laser cutting & sheet metal bending under one roof.

Bending Sheet Metal

We now offer both laser cutting and sheet metal bending under one roof at our Essex production site. We process one-off, batch and bulk laser cutting and sheet metal bending orders.

Bending Laser Cut Components

Combining laser cutting with folding on our press brake offers a comprehensive solution for efficient and precise manufacturing processes. We have the capability of creating multiple folds, transforming a flat sheet metal into complex forms with excellent lead times, at competitive prices.

We have a 130T and a 170T press brake which are both able to bend up to 3-metres in length (2980mm). Our Trubends are equipped with ACB to guarantee accuracy and repeatability on our folding.

What materials can we bend?

Thicknesses: The range of material thickness we can currently fold are between 0.5mm to 12mm. We are always willing to look at designs as we expand our tooling range and capabilities upon request up to 20mm thick.

Please note the fold suitability is entirely dependent on the design, the radius of the bend and length of the part.

We can bend an array of materials including:

Placing an Order

To place an order, please provide the following for 2D and 3D files:

  • Material

  • Thickness

  • Quantity

  • Is the part under 3 metres?

  • Is a PDF available? Preferably with a 3D image of the folded part that is dimensioned.

For 2D files, we need some additional information:

  • Bend angle – is it up or down?

  • Inner radius

  • Bend line position dimensioned

File types we accept

We have the capability to natively read and utilise the majority of 3D CAD files in order to create our customers’ parts. By employing 3D CAD files, we can guarantee that the parts we manufacture will precisely match our customers’ finished product as depicted in their 3D files.

We accept ACIS, Catia V4, Catia V5, 3DExperience, ProE/Creo, IGES, JT, Parasolid, Simens NX and much more.

Benefits of using a press brake on laser cut components

  1. Precision and Accuracy: Laser cutting provides incredibly precise and accurate cuts, and when you fold the metal, you maintain that precision in the bending process. This ensures that the final components meet tight tolerances and specifications.
  2. Complex Geometries: Laser cutting allows for the creation of intricate and complex shapes in sheet metal. Bending sheet metal enables the transformation of flat sheets into three-dimensional components without compromising the intricacy of the design.
  3. High Productivity: Combining laser cutting with bending on the same site streamlines the production process, reducing the need for several suppliers, and reduces the lead time.
  4. Cost-Effectiveness: By utilising mass production techniques, the cost per unit of laser cutting and bending sheet metal can be significantly reduced. Bulk material purchasing, streamlined manufacturing processes, and minimised setup and tooling costs contribute to overall cost savings, making it an economically viable option for large volume production.
