Copper Laser Cutting & Bending Services

Copper sheet cut to size from 0.9mm to 5mm | Bending from 0.9mm to 5mm | Essex facility, UK-wide delivery

Using fibre laser technology at our Essex facility, we cut copper sheet from 0.9mm up to 5mm thick in C101 grade. Need bending too? We handle copper sheet cut to size and bent to spec as a single order, so you get finished parts from one supplier. Our precision laser cutting holds tolerances to plus or minus 0.25mm on every job.

Need bending too? Our sheet metal bending services cover copper also.

Expert Copper Laser Cutting

We handle laser cutting copper sheet from 0.9mm up to 5mm thick, including laser cut copper plate at the heavier end of the range. Whether it’s a one-off prototype or repeat batches of laser cut copper parts, our Trumpf 12KW and 24KW fibre lasers hold tolerances to plus or minus 0.25mm as standard.

Copper is highly reflective, which makes it tricky to cut with older CO2 lasers. Our fibre laser cutting copper setup is specifically suited to reflective metals, producing clean, burr-free edges without the issues that come with traditional laser technology.

Copper C101

C101 is the most common grade of copper for laser cutting copper sheet. It has high ductility, excellent impact strength, and outstanding conductivity for both heat and electricity. Corrosion resistance is good to high in most environments, and it solders well.

C101 is also non-magnetic and resistant to bio-fouling. Copper naturally forms a protective green patina over time, which is why you see it used for architectural features like roofing and cladding.

Copper’s Natural Antibacterial Advantage

Copper has natural antibacterial properties. Bacteria are destroyed on its surface much faster than on metals like stainless steel. This makes copper sheet metal a popular choice for kitchens, including worktops, splashbacks, trims, and push plates.

Copper

Copper is widely used in the building industry for roofing, cladding, rainwater systems, heating, plumbing, oil and gas lines, and electrical wiring. Its durability, conductivity, and corrosion resistance make it essential for construction and general electronics.

Quality & Traceability
Every part comes with full material certification and traceability. We are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001, plus Cyber Essentials accredited. All copper stock is stored indoors to prevent surface damage.

Combined Services Advantage
Get copper sheet cut to size and bent to spec in a single order. One supplier, one delivery, shorter lead times. Our laser cutting and bending are handled under the same roof.

Fibre Laser Expertise
Not every laser shop can cut copper well. Older CO2 lasers struggle with reflective metals, causing poor edge quality and inconsistent results. Our Trumpf fibre lasers are built for materials like copper and brass, giving you clean cuts and reliable tolerances every time.

Fast Response
Request a quote and get accurate pricing within one hour during business hours. Our sales team handles enquiries directly. No automated systems, no waiting around.

copper

Copper has natural antibacterial properties, meaning bacteria are rapidly destroyed on its surface, much faster than on traditional metals such as stainless steel. As a result, copper is commonly used in kitchens for work surfaces, splashbacks, trims, push plates and other high-touch areas.

Copper Cutting Applications

Our custom copper cutting service covers a wide range of sectors

Whatever your industry, our metal laser cutting service handles everything from one-off prototypes to production runs.

Electrical & Electronics
Busbars, connectors, terminals, and heat sinks. Copper’s high conductivity makes it the go-to material for electrical components, and laser cut copper gives you the tight tolerances these parts need..

Construction & Architecture
Roofing panels, cladding, rainwater systems, and decorative features. Copper’s natural patina and long lifespan make it a favourite for high-end building projects. We cut sheets of copper metal and custom cut copper sheet profiles to your exact drawings.

Plumbing & HVAC
Fittings, and connection plates for heating, plumbing, and ventilation systems. Copper’s corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity are well suited to these environments.

Food & Hospitality
Worktops, splashbacks, trims, and push plates for commercial kitchens. Copper’s antibacterial properties make it a practical choice where hygiene matters.

Renewable Energy
Components for solar panels, battery systems, and power distribution. The shift towards electrification is driving strong demand for precision copper sheet metal UK parts.

Copper FAQs

What is copper?

Copper is a soft, ductile metal known for its excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and its natural corrosion resistance. It is widely used in electrical, plumbing, architectural and decorative work.

What thickness of copper can you laser cut?

We laser cut C101 copper sheet from 0.9mm up to 5mm thick at our Essex facility, holding tolerances to plus or minus 0.25mm on every job.

What grade of copper do you supply and laser cut?

We stock and laser cut C101, a high-purity grade with excellent conductivity, which is the standard choice for electrical and high-performance applications.

Why does copper need a fibre laser to cut?

Copper is highly reflective, which makes it difficult to cut cleanly on older CO2 lasers. Our fibre lasers handle it without issue, producing clean, oxide-free edges.

Is copper recyclable?

Yes. Copper is 100% recyclable and can be reused repeatedly without any loss of performance, which is why a large share of all copper ever produced is still in use today.
