Zintec
We laser cut Zintec sheet in thicknesses ranging from 0.7mm to 3mm
Typically used for applications where it won’t be exposed to moisture and appearance is unimportant, Zintec is cold rolled, mild steel sheet which has been first electrolytically cleaned and then pickled to give it a clean, smooth oxide free surface. It is then coated with a uniform, electrolytic deposit of zinc or a zinc-nickel alloy, it is also known as Electric Zinc Coated Sheet (EZC).
Zintec sheet is not decorative and has a matt grey appearance. It is typically used in the manufacture of sheet steel pressed products such as washing machines, air conditioning units and car bodies and is often used in pressed products across the construction industry. Zintec should not be used in corrosive environments without an additional protective finish.
Sheet metal work can be made from Zintec sheet if it’s going to be powder coated afterwards because the protective zinc layer acts as an undercoat.
Maximum Sizes
The maximum sheet size for most materials is 3000mm x 1500mm, a 10mm border is required around the outside, so the maximum part size we can cut is 2980mm x 1480mm. There are exceptions to this rule – these are marked in the materials tables.
