Laser Cutting and Folding at Scale: A Recent Project Highlight

Modern Fabrication in Action

Some projects are a great reminder of what modern fabrication is capable of. This recent aluminium production run gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase the scale, speed and precision we deliver every day. From cutting and forming to packing and dispatch, thousands of parts moved through our process in a matter of hours, all handled with the same care and efficiency our customers rely on.

Project by the Numbers

To give you an idea of the scale:

  • 7,610 kg of aluminium cut
  • 1,225 individual parts produced
  • 19 unique line items
  • 2,575 folds completed on our press brakes
  • 10,000+ blue protective tabs used, plus corrugated cardboard to keep everything safe in transit

400 Sheets Processed in Under Eight Hours

The cutting stage of the project was completed using our Trumpf TruLaser machines, some of the most advanced laser cutting systems on our shop floor.During this run, we processed 400 sheets of 3mm aluminium, 316 grade, in under eight hours.

That level of throughput is something we are extremely proud of, and it highlights why investment in high-performance machinery matters. When customers need large quantities turned around quickly, having the right equipment makes all the difference.

Folding Completed On-Site, Without Delay

Once cutting was complete, the job moved straight into bending.

Our press brake team carried out a total of 2,575 folds across the batch, all completed in-house Using our Trumpf TruBend 5170. Keeping both laser cutting and folding under one roof allows us to maintain control, reduce lead times, and ensure every component meets specification before it leaves our facility.

It also means customers benefit from a smoother production process and one trusted supplier throughout.

Packed Properly, Protected Completely

A job of this size is not only about making parts quickly. It is also about ensuring they arrive exactly as they should. For this project, more than 10,000 blue protective tabs were applied, alongside corrugated cardboard packaging, to protect every component during transit. That extra care ensures parts arrive in excellent condition, ready to go straight into assembly or production.

Projects like this show the scale and capability we bring to every order. We are equipped to manage high-volume production, complex assemblies, and tight lead times, while maintaining the quality and consistency our customers expect.

From the first sheet on the laser to the final packed components ready for dispatch, everything is handled in-house with full control at every stage. That is what allows us to deliver serious throughput without compromising on precision, presentation, or reliability.

We have the machinery, the team and the processes in place to deliver efficiently and at scale. If you have an upcoming project and want to work with a supplier built for high-volume fabrication, we would be happy to help.
