Expert Zintec Laser Cutting

We laser cut zintec sheet from 0.7mm up to 3mm thick. Whether it’s a one-off prototype or repeat batches of laser cut zintec parts, Trumpf 12KW and 24KW fibre lasers handle the job with precision laser cutting tolerances to plus or minus 0.25mm as standard.

Zintec’s thin zinc coating means it cuts cleanly with the right gas settings. We use optimised nitrogen and oxygen blends to produce smooth, oxide-free edges that are ready for powder coating or painting straight off the machine. No secondary finishing needed.

Zintec (DC01 Electro Zinc Coated)

Zintec is cold rolled mild steel that has been electrolytically cleaned, pickled, and coated with a uniform layer of zinc. It is also known as Electric Zinc Coated Sheet (EZC). The result is a smooth, matt grey surface with good corrosion resistance during storage and transit.

Zintec is easier to form than hot-dip galvanised steel because the zinc layer is thinner and more uniform. It bends, presses, and stamps well, making it a go-to material for pressed products and sheet metal fabrication. The smooth surface takes paint and powder coat finishes without heavy preparation.

Zintec

Zintec has a matt grey finish and is ideal for pressed products like car bodies, appliances, and construction. It needs extra protection in corrosive environments but works well for powder-coated sheet metal, electronics chassis, brackets, enclosures, and lighting gear trays.

Quality & Traceability
Every part comes with full material certification and traceability. We are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001, plus Cyber Essentials accredited. All Zintec stock is stored indoors to prevent surface damage and premature corrosion of the zinc coating.

Combined Services Advantage
Get zintec cut to size and bent to spec in a single order. One supplier, one delivery, shorter lead times. Laser cutting services and zintec bending are handled under the same roof.

Clean-Cut Edges
Zintec needs clean edges to hold its powder coat or paint finish. The Trumpf fibre lasers produce smooth, burr-free cuts that are ready for finishing straight away. No grinding, no deburring, no extra steps.

Fast Response
Request a quote and get accurate pricing within one hour during business hours. The sales team handles enquiries directly. No automated systems, no waiting around.

Zintec

Zintec’s smooth, zinc-coated surface is one of the best bases for powder coating and painting in the sheet metal cutting service world. The uniform zinc layer provides excellent adhesion with minimal surface prep. If your parts need a painted or powder-coated finish, Zintec is often the most practical and cost-effective choice.

Zintec Cutting Applications

Our zintec laser cutting service covers a wide range of sectors

Whatever your industry, our metal laser cutting service handles everything from one-off prototypes to production runs.

Electrical & Electronics
Chassis, enclosures, panels, and brackets for electronics housing. Zintec’s smooth surface and precise cutting make it ideal for components that need a clean, painted finish.

White Goods & Appliances
Washing machine panels, fridge housings, air conditioning units, and other domestic appliances. Zintec’s formability and paint-ready surface make it a staple in this sector.

Ventilation & HVAC
Ductwork panels, air handling units, and ventilation components. Zintec is widely used in HVAC because it forms easily and takes protective coatings well.

Lighting & Shopfitting
Gear trays, reflector housings, brackets, and mounting plates for commercial lighting and retail interiors.

Automotive
Body panels, inner panels, brackets, and structural trim. The automotive sector uses Zintec for parts that will be painted or undercoated during assembly.

Construction & Signage
Lintels, electrical back boxes, temporary signage, and internal cladding panels. Zintec works well for indoor construction components where a painted finish is planned.

Zintec FAQs

What is Zintec?

Zintec is cold rolled mild steel that has been cleaned, pickled and then given a thin electrolytic coating of zinc. It has a smooth, matt grey finish and is also known as Electric Zinc Coated Sheet (EZC).

What thickness of Zintec can you laser cut?

We laser cut and bend Zintec from 0.7mm up to 3mm thick at our Essex facility.

How is Zintec different from galvanised steel?

Zintec has a thin, smooth electrolytic zinc coating that takes paint and powder coating well, while galvanised steel has a thicker hot-dip coating that gives more corrosion protection. Zintec suits indoor and pressed parts, galvanised suits outdoor use.

What is Zintec used for?

Zintec is ideal for pressed products, electronics chassis, brackets, enclosures and lighting trays, particularly where the part will be powder coated and not exposed to moisture.

Is Zintec recyclable?

Yes. Zintec is mild steel with a zinc coating, and both are fully recyclable.
