BS EN 1090 for structural steel and aluminium is a requirement for products sold in Europe. Any organisations who design and/or manufacture steel or aluminium components must adhere to this standard.
Since July 2014, structural steelwork and aluminium fall under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), which means aluminium or structural steel CE marking must be secured to show compliance with EN 1090-1 (the harmonised European standard that applies to structural metalwork).
This covers any structural component that has been designed and fabricated to meet the BS EN 1991 series of standards (Eurocode 3 and 9) for steel and aluminium structures in buildings. These now need to show that they comply with BS EN 1090-1.

John Tabor63 days agoI needed a small part for my boat to help smooth the launch and recovery of the spinnaker. It involved tapered and bent marine grade stainless to my own design and measurements. No problem for Lasered, despite my hand draw design, they produced a CAD version and the part 👍 which arrived really well packed. Now I’ve got to fit it! Christian French123 days agoI’d just like to extend my thanks to Lasered Components for doing a perfect job for me. It was only a small job but I literally could not fault the work. We were in a right mess following the replacement of a troublesome shower mixer valve for a different one with a completely different shape and design, this left a hole in the tiled shower area where the old valve was. We could no longer get the tiles as they’re no longer manufactured so replacing the tile was not an option. The only solution we came up with was to have an escutcheon plate made for the shower mixer – a quick google and found a local company - after sending Lasered components the dimensions I wasn’t sure how it would look when in place but at the price they quoted it was worth a gamble.
